During the summer, a diligent ant called Andy was busy collecting food and storing it in his nest for the winter. He worked diligently, bringing grains and seeds from the fields and made sure he had enough to endure the winter months.
Meanwhile, a carefree grasshopper called Greg spent his days singing and playing in the sunlight, laughing at Andy’s effort. “Why worry about the future when the present is so wonderful?” Greg would say.
When winter arrived, the ant had lots of food saved and was comfortable within his home, but Greg found himself chilly and hungry, having nothing to eat. He went to Andy and begged for food.
Andy gladly offered his supplies, but advised Greg that he should have prepared ahead, as hard work and planning are important for tough times.
Moral:
Prepare today for the hardships of tomorrow.
