The Forbidden Jungle’s mysteries had always captivated Marco and Lina. The forest, known for its exotic species, secret waterfalls, and deep, impenetrable trees, had remained undiscovered for decades. The Heart of the forest, a legendary stone said to have healing and enlightening properties, was said to be buried deep inside the forest.
Armed with an antiquated notebook they discovered in a former bookshop that chronicled the adventures of an adventurer who vanished while seeking the Heart, Lina and Marco started their journey. Their trip started off well, but as they descended further, the landscape became dangerous due to the dense vines, hordes of insects, and dense fog that made it difficult to see. They often thought they were being watched, and strange noises reverberated all about them.
Along the way, they came across prehistoric stone engravings that led them to secret temples and even a waterfall with odd illuminating stones at its base. The journal’s landmarks each provided hints about the Heart of the forest, but the further they ventured, the more the forest seemed to thwart their advancement. Unexpected traps were waiting, the animals became more noisy, and the vines seemed to tug at them.
Finally, they arrived in a clearing where the Heart of the Jungle—a huge tree with its roots around a glistening stone—was standing. However, when they got closer, a ferocious tribe emerged, acting as jungle protectors and cautioning them from stealing the stone. After seeing that the stone was the jungle’s strength and not a prize, Marco and Lina made the decision to leave it where it belonged.
They went home knowing that some mysteries were best left unsolved and that not all riches should be stolen.
