Lost Diary of Alexandria: A Scholar’s Secret Betrayal

The epicentre of culture, power, and knowledge in 48 BCE is Alexandria, Egypt’s crown gem. With its extensive collection of manuscripts and scrolls from ancient times, the Great Library of Alexandria serves as a centre for scholarly pursuits. Prodigious scholar Callista, 22, has devoted her life to deciphering and preserving these documents. Admired by her colleagues for her knowledge and unyielding resolve, she is wary of the political forces that threaten the city.

When Julius Caesar comes, the city is in disarray due to a power struggle with Pharaoh Ptolemy XIII. Callista finds an old scroll written in a language she has never seen before among the confusion. As she interprets its significance, she discovers that it contains the key to a hidden archive that is said to house the ancient world’s lost knowledge.

Her finding is not overlooked, however. Marcus Valerius, a Roman commander, is attracted to Callista because of her intelligence as well as her attractiveness. Callista is attracted to Marcus’s charisma and intelligence despite her first misgivings about his intentions. When Callista discovers that Marcus is complicit in a secret scheme to seize the Library’s riches and transport them to Rome, their developing relationship is put to the test.

Callista is faced with an unthinkable decision as Alexandria burns under Caesar’s siege: put her faith in Marcus and risk the Library’s destruction, or give up her emotions to protect the greatest information base in human history. She comes up with a bold scheme to safeguard the scrolls with the assistance of her tutor, a shrewd and reclusive librarian. However, treachery may be found anywhere, and she might not be able to afford the price of rescuing the Library.
