A Satire on Bureaucratic Nonsense: The Committee for Overthinking Simple Things:

In the town of Redtapeville, every minor decision was handled by the “Committee for Overthinking Simple Things.” This group specialized in making even the most straightforward tasks bafflingly complex. Their motto was, “Why decide now when you can decide in three years?”

One day, the townsfolk requested a single public bench for the park. The committee met weekly to discuss the project, debating everything from the bench’s angle to its material. After two years of debating the “bench project,” they finally concluded that they should form a “Bench Subcommittee” to evaluate additional seating options.

As the citizens grew increasingly frustrated, a local carpenter named Ben decided to build a bench on his own. When the committee found out, they held a 6-hour emergency meeting on whether the bench was “legal.” They ultimately agreed to install their own “official” bench, which, hilariously, looked identical to Ben’s.

Moral:
Sometimes, the best way to get things done is to simply do them.
